Canadiens Invite McEwan, Addison To Training Camp

The Montreal Canadiens want to take a closer look at Chatham's James McEwan.

The undrafted Guelph Storm forward has been invited to the Canadiens' main training camp, which starts Thursday, September 14.

McEwan was one of 23 players who participated in Montreal's rookie camp from September 7-13 -- he is also one of just four players receiving a professional try-out from the team.

The 20-year-old has spent the past four seasons with the Guelph Storm and played in parts of two seasons with the Chatham Maroons before moving up to the OHL.

McEwan put up 39 points in 58 games for the Storm in the 2016-2017 season (19 goals, 20 assists).

The Canadiens have also invited former Windsor Spitfire Jeremiah Addison to their main camp. He was selected by the team in the seventh round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft (#207 overall).

Addison captained the Spitfires to their third Memorial Cup win this past spring.
