Lightning Take Game 2

Garrett Williamson scored 28 points as the London Lightning beat the Orangeville A's Saturday night 121-118 at Budweiser Gardens.

The Lightning now lead the NBL Canada Central Division semifinal series two games to none.  They can go for a sweep of the best-of-five series Tuesday night at Orangeville.

Williamson shot eight-for-nine in field goals and sank 11 out of 13 free throw attempts.

Royce White added to the victory with a double-double, scoring 23 points and leading the Lightning defensively with 13 rebounds.  Kyle Johnson contributed 16 points.

Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson led the A's with 28 points, including a perfect six-for-six from the charity stripe.  Justin Moss put up an additional 22 points while Anthony Harris, Jameson Tipping and Alex Johnson scored 17 points apiece for Orangeville.

The A's took early control of the game tempo and held a four-point lead after the first quarter.  London came back with the offence in the second quarter and took a 57-52 lead at the intermission.    The Lightning put more distance between themselves and the A's in the third quarter, though Orangeville mounted an impressive comeback effort in the fourth, before London got some key free throws near the end of the game.

Tipoff for Game 3 Tuesday night is at 7pm.
