Knights Win 2-1 in Overtime, Force Game 7

Mitchell Stephens helped extend the London Knights' season for at least one more game.

Stephens scored the overtime winner in Game 6 of the OHL Western Conference Semifinals, pushing the Knights over the Erie Otters 2-1 before a sellout crowd Easter Sunday at Budweiser Gardens.

The deciding Game 7 will be in Erie on Tuesday night.  The winner of that game will take on the Owen Sound Attack in the OHL Western Conference Finals.

The Otters appeared to be on track to advance in the tournament as they scored first in the game.  Jordan Sambrook scored his second goal of the playoffs just 47 seconds into the opening period.    The score remained 1-0 after one period and the Knights had one failed power play chance.

Janne Kuokkanen had the equalizer for the Knights late in the second period, a power play goal and his ninth score of the playoffs.

The third period was scoreless and perfect, as neither team spent time in the penalty box.

Stephens' overtime winner came just before the halfway point of the extra period.  The Knights won the game despite being outshot by Erie 45-26.

Tyler Parsons had 44 saves in goal for the Knights.  Troy Timpano collected 24 saves for the Otters.

Puck drop for the deciding Game 7 Tuesday is 7pm.
