The Windsor Spitfires edged the London Knights 4-3 in overtime on Friday to take Game 1 of their first round OHL playoffs.
Olli Juolevi kicked the game off with a goal 5:08 into the first period to give London a 1-0 lead.
Jeremiah Addison tied things up with a goal for Windsor 2:10 into the second, but Victor Mete added another for London to put them back in the lead.
Aaron Luchuk was able to scored for Windsor 14:21 into the second and again early in the third to give the Spitfires a 3-2 advantage. However, Mitchell Stephens scored for the Knights with less than three minutes left to tie the game and force overtime.
Addison scored the game winner for Windsor 15:06 into OT.
The Spitfires also outshot the Knights 47-38.
The two teams face off again on Sunday for Game 2. The puck drops at 2pm at Budweiser Gardens.
