Lightning Defeats A's 109-91

Doug Herring, Jr. scored 22 points as the London Lightning beat the Orangeville A's on the road 109-91 Saturday night.

The Lightning improve to 21-4 and have a stranglehold on first place in the NBL Central Division standings.  Only the Halifax Hurricanes have more wins on the season so far with 22.

Herring also had nine assists in the game, and went 10-for-15 in field goals.  Royce White added 21 points for the Lightning with eight rebounds and five assists.  Joel Friesen contributed 18 points to the cause.  Ryan Anderson also had eight rebounds for London.

London got off to a strong start in the first quarter, outscoring Orangeville 29-20, and maintained a 53-47 lead at halftime.  The Lightning was then able to hold off the A's to begin the second half and put them away offensively in the fourth quarter.

Anthony Harris and Larry Anderson each led the A's with 16 points, with Anderson leading the team defensively with eight rebounds.  Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson added 13 points and made all five free throw attempts.

The Lightning continue their road trip on Sunday afternoon when they visit Kitchener-Waterloo and take on the Titans.
