Knights Weather Storm 6-2

Robert Thomas had two assists and six different London Knights scored goals in their 6-2 win over the Storm in Guelph Sunday.

The Knights currently sit in fourth place in the OHL Western Conference with 93 points, one point behind the Owen Sound Attack.

The Knights began the first period with two unanswered goals.  Janne Kuokkanen opened the scoring at 6:27 into the opening frame with his 24th goal of the season.  Sam Miletic doubled the London lead with a goal just less than four minutes later.  The Storm cracked the scoreboard before the end of the period with their only score of the game, the 17th goal of the year from Nate Schnaar.

London opened things up further in the second period with three more goals.  Branden Crawley made it a 3-1 lead for the Knights at 5:54 in the period, and Dante Salituro added another goal for the Knights exactly three minutes later.  Adrian Carbonara scored toward the end of the middle period for a 5-1 London lead.

The Knights put one more goal on the scoreboard in the third period, when Mitchell Vande Sompel lit the lamp for his 20th goal of the year.  Guelph managed to get one back before the end of the game when Givani Smith scored on the power play.

Tyler Parsons stopped all but two of Guelph's 32 shots on goal.  Liam Herbst had 32 saves for the Storm between the pipes.

The Knights head to Erie Tuesday night to take on the first-place Otters.
