Lightning Beat Highlanders for 13th Straight Win

Several records fell for the London Lightning Sunday afternoon.

The Lightning went on the road to Cape Breton and had no trouble with the Highlanders, beating them 133-94.  This win, their 13th in a row, broke an NBLC record for the longest winning streak.

Ryan Anderson was clearly the player of the game, leading all scorers with 45 points, 17 in the first quarter alone.  That point total accounted for 13 three-point shots completed, also a new league record.  His 27 free throw attempts is also a new record.  The Lightning as a whole set an additional record by completing 24 three-point shots in one game.

Royce White chipped in 15 points and led the defence for London with 14 rebounds.  His ten assists in the game provided White with his fourth triple-double, another new NBLC record.

Anthony Criswell had an additional 19 points for London.  Doug Herring, Jr. set a Lightning record for assists with 19, while scoring four points on his own.

Booker Woodfox led the Highlanders with 22 points, including four triple-pointers.  Shaquille Keith sunk an additional 17 and Derron Scott had 15 while leading Cape Breton with 11 boards.

The Lightning conclude their east coast swing and go for their 14th win in a row Tuesday night in Saint John against the Riptide.
