Lightning Strikes Titans 117-92

Kyle Johnson scored 19 points as the London Lightning beat the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans 117-92 Saturday night at Budweiser Gardens.

Royce White and Julian Bond added 18 points apiece for the Lightning, who now lead the NBL Central Division standings with a 5-3 record.  Frederick Redmond led the defensive game for the Lightning with 14 rebounds and 12 points for a double-double.

The Lightning take two out of three from the Titans in a three-game series going back to last weekend.

Greg Morrow led the Titans and all scorers with 22 points, while Cavell Johnson had 15 more points and led K-W with nine rebounds.

London got out to a quick start by outscoring the Titans 30-15 in the first quarter, though Kitchener-Waterloo tightened it up before halftime to trim the Lightning lead to 54-38.  The Lightning would lead by five after three quarters and stay in control the rest of the game.

The Titans blocked eight shots on the night and held London to none.

The Lightning hosts the Windsor Express Sunday afternoon.  The Express are 3-3 and in second place in the Central Division.
