Provincial police are turning to the public for help identifying the body of a man pulled from the waters of Lake Erie in Long Point on Tuesday.
Members of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton and Canadian Coast Guard were conducting a training exercise in the area when they spotted the human remains just before 3:45 p.m.
The body was in the water at the tip of Long Point on the south shore, Norfolk OPP confirmed on Wednesday. An autopsy to determine cause of death has been scheduled.

Police are currently working to identify the deceased. They describe the individual as a Caucasian male, 5'9 to 5'10, approximately 160 to 180 lbs, with brown hair. He was wearing a grey hoodie with a "RED MTN" logo of the front of the sweater that is blue, black, and grey in colour, jeans, and black hiking styled running shoes/boots.
The body could be that of a Canadian or American," police indicated. As such, they are asking residents of both countries for help identifying the deceased. Anyone with information is asked to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477 (TIPS).
