Fire breaks out at Flying M truck stop

London firefighters were called to respond to a massive commercial garage fire at a truck stop in south London on Monday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the Flying M at 7292 Colonel Talbot Line just after 3 p.m. after a large blaze erupted in the truck servicing area.

It's not yet clear how the fire started, though early reports indicate an explosion from a propane tank was likely the cause.

Officials say no one was injured during the incident.

At one point, 35 firefighters with the London Fire Department were on scene. Additional crews with Southwold Fire Department and Middlesex Fire Services were also called to assist with dousing the fire.

Fire officials confirmed the fire was under control just before 7 p.m.

Colonel Talbot between Southminster Bourne and Orr Drive was closed while crews worked on the fire. Police opened the area just before midnight.

The investigation will continue on Tuesday.
