Nearly a month after a brazen daytime armed robbery at an Old East Village convenience store, London police are appealing to the public for help identifying a suspect.
Police have released surveillance photos of a man wanted in connection with the July 15 hold-up at the mini-mart at 750 Lorne Ave. It was around 2:30pm on that date that a man walked into the store, pulled out a gun, and demanded money and merchandise from the clerk. He then took off in a dark coloured pick-up truck with an undisclosed amount of cash and store items.
The clerk was not physically hurt.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 5’7” tall, with a medium build. He had a mask covering his face and wore a tank top that exposed his arms. It is believed that he has a birthmark on his left bicep, as well as a mole adjacent to the birthmark.
Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
