Groping Suspect Charged

London police say a man accused of groping three women has turned himself in.

Ali Nazar Mohd, 88, of London surrendered at police headquarters on Saturday and was charged with three counts of sexual assault. The charges stem from three incidents in which women reported to police that they had been touched inappropriately by an elderly man.

London police were first contacted by a woman who was out for a walk along the south side of Gainsborough Rd. near Limberlost Rd. when she encountered the man around 1:45pm on July 25. Concerned that the man was confused, the woman offered her assistance. The man then grabbed her by the wrists, said something in an unknown language, and touched the woman inappropriately. She was able to break free and run away.

Police released pictures of the suspect to the public, which prompted two more women to report similar incidents of inappropriate touching.

One woman reported being grabbed while she was in the area of Coronation Dr. and Hyde Park Rd. sometime between April 28 and May 5. The other woman said she was touched by a man on July 12 when she was in the area of Fanshawe Park Rd. West and Hyde Park Rd.

Mohd is to appear in court September 19.
