More Groping Victims Come Forward

Since advising Londoners earlier this week about an elderly man who allegedly touched a woman inappropriately, London police say two more women have come forward to report similar incidents involving the same man.

London police were first contacted by a woman who was out for a walk along the south side of Gainsborough Rd. near Limberlost Rd. when she encountered the man around 1:45pm on July 25. Concerned that the man was confused the woman offered her assistance. The man then grabbed her by the wrists, said something in an unknown language, and touched the woman inappropriately. She was able to break free and run away.

Police released pictures of the suspect to the public on Monday, which prompted two more women to report similar incidents of inappropriate touching.

One woman reported being grabbed while she was in the area of Coronation Dr. and Hyde Park Rd. sometime between April 28 and May 5. The other woman said she was touched by a man on July 12 when she was in the area of Fanshawe Park Rd. West and Hyde Park Rd.

In all three incidents, the man is described as being approximately 5’4”, 60-70 years old, partially bald with short black/grey hair, darker skin and a medium build. The man appeared confused and walked with a limp and a cane. He was wearing brown pants and a light-coloured, shorted-sleeved collared shirt.

Anyone with information that could can help identify the man is asked to call police at 519-661-5670, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
