More Charges Laid In Death of Raymond Beaver

Two more people are facing charges in the stabbing death of a man in east London.

London police announced on Tuesday that two youths, aged 15 and 17, are now charged with manslaughter in the death of Raymond Beaver. The 43-year-old was stabbed to death October 2, 2017 at his home on Lansdowne Ave. in what police called a targeted attack.

Within a couple of days of Beaver's death, London police arrested five adults and two teens. First-degree murder charges were laid against 32-year-old David Cavanaugh, 34-year-old Melissa George, 18-year-old Nicholas George, and 20-year-old Peter Townsend. All four had already been charged with break and enter and assault with a weapon. Melissa George was also charged with uttering threats. The fifth adult arrested, 38-year-old Lisa Sager, was charged with break and enter and assault with a weapon. The two teens were charged with break and enter.

The first day he was in custody at the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre, Townsend was beaten by inmates and suffered facial injuries and a cracked rib.

The death of Beaver marked London's third homicide of 2017.
