A 7-year-old girl has died and another person has suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle collision in Middlesex Centre.
The Ontario Provincial Police said just before 4:15pm on Monday, a pickup truck that was travelling south on Nairn Rd. turned east onto McEwen Dr. and collided with a four-door car that was heading north.
A 7-year-old girl who was in the car was rushed to hospital in critical condition but has since died as a result of her injuries. The driver of the car was also taken to hospital and remains in critical condition.
Police say charges are pending in connection with the crash.
Officers have closed Nairn Rd. between Fernhill Dr. and Greystead Dr., Mcewen Dr. between Cold Stream Rd. and Bear Creek Rd. to allow officers to conduct an investigation. The roadway is expected to remain closed until the early morning hours.
