Stratford Man Nabbed By Police Twice In 24 Hours

A 29-year-old Stratford man accused of smashing a door at London police headquarters is facing even more charges after he was arrested for a second time less than 24 hours later.

London police officers first arrested the 29-year-old early Thursday morning after he allegedly broke into their headquarters on Dundas St., as well as another residence around the corner.

Police say it didn't take long before officers were called about another incident, too.

Officers say the Stratford man allegedly broke into a high-rise apartment building on Talbot St. and was found hiding in a unit there at around 4pm Thursday by the tenant who lives there.

Police say the tenant then left the unit and was with the property manager when the man walked out with "several bags of property" while also waving a large knife.

Officers quickly responded to the scene and arrested the suspect.

He's now charged with break and enter, theft, and assault with a weapon.
