More Charges Laid In Fitness Centre Voyeurism Case

More charges have been laid against a man already charged in connection with an incident of voyeurism at an Ingersoll fitness club.

Oxford OPP announced Thursday that Walter Jason Peat, 48, of Zorra Township was charged with an additional three counts of voyeurism. The charges were laid after police announced late last month that they were looking to speak with any women who used the tanning beds at Target Zone Health & Fitness between January 2016 and May 17, 2018.

Peat, who was listed as the facilities manager at the fitness centre when he was initially arrested, was charged in May with one count of voyeurism.

Police say they were able to identify additional victims, which resulted in the additional charges.

"The OPP would like to thank the community for all of their assistance and the information that they were able to provide to investigators during the course of the investigation," said Detective Sergeant John Byrne, West Region Crime Unit.

Peat was released from custody and will appear in court in Woodstock at a later date, according to Oxford OPP.
