Canada's music industry has bestowed a prestigious honour on Fanshawe College for the second year in a row.
The college was named the Music School of the Year at the 2018 Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards, an annual celebration that pays tribute to the industry's pioneers and builders.
"To be chosen again this year further confirms the high regard our industry peers have for Fanshawe’s Music Industry Arts and Audio Post-Production programs," said Rob Carver, chair of the School of Contemporary Media at Fanshawe. "My sincerest congratulations to the faculty, staff, students, and alumni of these programs, many of whom also hold top industry awards, including our most recent winner Music Industry Arts alumni Dondrea Erauw for Best Music Supervision at the Canadian Sync Awards – also part of Canadian Music Week."
Held last week in Toronto, the award gala is the climax of Canadian Music Week. Rather than being selected by fans or judges, winners were chosen by the combined votes of registered Canadian music professionals from the retail, recording, and live sectors.
This is the second year in a row Fanshawe has won Music School of the Year. The award was created in 2016.
