The fiance of the Vanastra woman who was found dead on the side of the road last week has been charged with second-degree murder.
Corey Douglas Volland, 29, of Vanastra has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 27-year-old Laura Wigelsworth.
Wigelsworth was last seen walking along Quebec Rd. in Vanastra on Wednesday night. Her body was found Thursday along Front Rd. It was later determined that she had been murdered.
On Saturday, police announced that they had arrested a suspect in connection with her death.
According to Wigelsworth's Facebook account, the pair were set to get married on Aug 18.
Volland made his first court appearance via video link in London on Sunday. He will appear in person at Goderich court Monday at 10am.
