Lightning Strikes First Against The Edge In Game 1

The London Lightning topped the St. John's Edge 140-133 in double overtime in Game 1 on Tuesday.

London held a 28-26 lead over St. Johns at the end of the first quarter, but the Edge jumped ahead to take a 58-48 lead heading into halftime.

It was a back-and-forth final half with the Lightning up by one point at the end of the third and the Edge retaking the lead in the fourth. However, London was able to tie the game at 104-104 at the end of regulation to force OT.

After again tying the game at 120-120 in the first overtime, the Lightning surged ahead to win it with a seven-point advantage after double OT.

Royce White scored a game-high 35 points for London and had ten rebounds, while Garrett Williamson had 29 points and 11 rebounds. Julian Boyd also put up 18 points and had seven rebounds.

The Lightning take on the Edge in Game 2 on Thursday. Tip-off is at 7pm at Budweiser Gardens.
