Lightning Hang On, Beat Storm 140-136

The London Lightning overcome a comeback effort to complete the regular season with a win.

The Island Storm closed the gap on the Lightning in the second half but London prevailed with a 140-136 win on Easter Sunday at Budweiser Gardens.

The Lightning end the regular season with a 27-13 record and the NBL Central Division title, along with the top seed in the upcoming playoffs. While the Lightning know they will face the Niagara River Lions in the first round, the schedule is yet to be determined.

Garrett Williamson and Ryan Anderson led the Lightning with 25 points apiece. Williamson also had nine out of ten free throws made and shared the defensive lead with Royce White, with seven rebounds each. Royce also sank 24 points. Doug Herring Jr. had 14 assists for London and scored eight points.

Carl Hall led the Storm with 34 points. Du'Vaughn Maxwell had 29 points while Chris Johnson chipped in 28. Hall also led on defence with 14 boards.

Game 1 of the playoffs against the River Lions will be at Budweiser Gardens, with the date to be announced.
