Parking Lot Bandits Robbing Women

London police are sending out a warning about a man and woman who have been trying to snatch jewellery from women in parking lots in the city.

Police have received two separate reports since Monday of women being approached by a man and woman in parking lots at different ends of the city. In both cases, the pair ask for directions to the hospital. Then, while chatting, the female suspect tries to take the victim's jewellery as she places other trinkets on her.

The first incident happened in a parking lot at 1299 Oxford St. near Highbury around 5pm on Monday. The second happened in a lot at 1225 Wonderland Rd. near Gainsborough Rd. around noon on Tuesday.

The female suspect is described as Middle-Eastern, 50 to 60 years old, approximately 5'6'', 135 lbs. She was wearing a hijab or hair in a high bun and has some gold and silver teeth. The male suspect is said to be Middle Eastern, 20 to 30 years old, approximately 5'8'' with a medium build and short black hair. The man's right eye also appears to be all white.

Anyone with information about these incidents or similar ones is asked to call police at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
