Knights Break Spirit 4-3 in Overtime

Evan Bouchard scored the overtime winner in the London Knights' 4-3 win over the Spirit in Saginaw Saturday night.

London sits in fifth place in the OHL Western Conference with 82 points. They can finish with a tie for fourth place with a win Sunday in their regular-season finale.

Jake Goldowski opened the scoring for the Spirit at 6:31 of the first period. Tyler Rollo tied the game up for London over five minutes later, his 11th goal of the season.

The Knights took the lead with the only goal in the middle frame. Alex Turko put the puck in for the ninth time this year.

Saginaw tied the game with back-to-back goals late in the third period. Caleb Everett and Damien Giroux scored within a minute of each other, forcing the overtime period.

Bouchard scored the winner 43 seconds into the extra period.

Joseph Raaymakers, a St. Patrick's Day baby, celebrated his 20th birthday with 33 saves out of 36 attempts. Evan Cormier stopped 36 shots for the Spirit.

The Knights finish the regular season in Sault Ste. Marie Sunday afternoon.
