Charges Laid In Marconi Boulevard Shooting

Two days after shots were fired in an east London neighbourhood, police say charges have now been laid.

Police were called to the area of Marconi Blvd. and Noel Ave. around 2:45am Tuesday after reports that shots had been fired. When they arrived, they found that a home had been hit by gunfire. The resident of the home, a woman named Cindy who asked that her last name not be used, reported that her son had heard an argument outside before the shots were fired. She said the shots shattered the glass of her outside door.

Investigators determined that there had been a fight in the area which resulted in gunfire.

No injuries were reported.

On Wednesday, police arrested a suspect with the help of the OPP's Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) squad. Liban Ali, 29, of London is charged with carelessly using a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a firearm without a licence, possession of a firearm while prohibited, and discharging a firearm while being reckless as to the life or safety of another person.

Police are still investigating.
