Lightning Strike St. John's 124-102, Split Series

The London Lightning split their back-to-back contests in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Lightning shook off a tough loss in St. John's Saturday night and beat the Edge 124-102 Sunday afternoon, regaining a slight lead in the NBLC Central Division standings. They also snap a three-game losing streak.

With a 22-12 record, London is ahead of the Edge in the standings with one less loss.

Royce White led the Lightning with 25 points and 18 rebounds for a double-double. Ryan Anderson chipped in 20 points and Kyle Johnson came off the bench to add 19 points.

The contest was relatively close in the first half, though the Lightning had a 60-54 lead at halftime. London exploded on offence in the third quarter, outscoring the Edge 35-14, creating a lead comfortable enough to carry them down the stretch.

Coron Williams led St. John's by scoring 23 points off the bench. Carl English and Wally Ellenson had 14 points apiece.. Desmond Lee led on defence with seven boards.

The Lightning return to Budweiser Gardens Thursday night to host the Cape Breton Highlanders.
