Suspect Identified In Fatal Hit-And-Run

Manslaughter and robbery charges have been laid against a 31-year-old man, accused in the hit-and-run death of a woman who was trying to stop a truck theft in east London.

London police issued an arrest warrant on Friday for Bradley James Hill of no fixed address. He is charged with manslaughter and robbery in connection with a fatal hit and run on February 8. Christina Smith was hit while trying to stop a man from stealing a grey 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck from a driveway near Moffatt Ave. and Vancouver St. The 32-year-old woman was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The stolen Silverado was found the following day in the area of Clarke Rd. and Trafalgar St.

Police believe the theft of the Silverado happened just minutes after officers found another stolen vehicle, a black Chevrolet pickup truck, in the same area.

Officers are continuing to search for Hill. The 31-year-old man is described as Indigenous, 5’9” tall, 160 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. He has several tattoos including the word “Hard” on his right hand, the word “Body” on his left hand, and, the words “7th Street” and “First Nations” on his right forearm.

Hill is known to frequent the Brantford area.

Anyone who spots Hill or knows where he might be is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
