London police say the attack began as officers were speaking with a man on an LTC bus in the area of Adelaide St. and Queens Ave. around 11:30am Tuesday. The man allegedly hit one officer in the face and head several times.

Another officer, trying to stop the attack, used his taser on the man but he continued to fight with police.

Shortly after, the man was subdued and arrested. Police say a switchblade was found during the arrest.

The officer who was assaulted was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

A 33-year-old London man is charged with assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
