Knights Send Thomas To Hamilton

The London Knights have sent their captain to Hamilton.

The team announced Monday that it had completed a trade with the Bulldogs that sees Robert Thomas sent to Hamilton in exchange for forward Connor McMichael and a total of five draft picks.

“Robert has been a tremendous leader for our organization and has been a true ambassador for the London Knights,” said Knights General Manager Rob Simpson. “He represents all of the ideals that we value in London; work ethic, passion, dedication, and leadership. We would like to thank Robert for all he has done for our organization, both on and off the ice. We wish him the best for years to come.”

The trade follows Sunday's deal that sent Max Jones to Kingston and an earlier trade that sent Cliff Pu to the Frontenacs.

In McMichael, the Knights get Hamilton's first round pick from the 2017 draft who has five goals and five assists in the first 32 games of his OHL career.

“We’re very excited to bring in Connor to help build for a very competitive future,” said Sampson in a new release issued Monday. “Connor is a very smart, and defensively responsible forward who we look forward to seeing develop for years to come.”

The Knights also get Hamilton’s second round pick in the 2021 draft, Mississauga’s second round pick in the 2020 draft, as well as Hamilton's third round pick in 2022, second round pick in 2025, and second round pick in 2026.
