More Snow On The Way

After a significant snowfall overnight, the London region could see another blast of snow on Wednesday.

A special weather statement is in effect for London and eastern Middlesex County, while a snowfall warning is in effect for Strathroy, Komoka, and western Middlesex County. In Elgin County, a snowfall warning is in effect for the western part of the county, while the special weather statement covers the eastern portion.

In London and eastern Middlesex, forecasters said 10 cm to 15 cm of snow are possible on Wednesday. In the western part of the county, Environment Canada said  up to 15 cm of accumulation is likely. Residents of western Elgin County could see 15 cm, while those in the eastern section could see 10-15 cm.

Environment Canada said drivers can expect to encounter poor visibility on the roads with heavy snowfall in the forecast and strong winds expected to blow around the snow that has already fallen.

"The main snow event is expected to end near midnight, however, a few flurries or local snow squalls are possible south of Lake Huron early Thursday," Environment Canada said in a statement issued around 10am Wednesday.
