A Snowy Start To The Week

Residents of southwestern Ontario will need to do some shoveling this week.

A special weather statement is still in effect for much of the region, including London-Middlesex, Elgin, Oxford, Chatham-Kent, and Windsor-Essex. Forecasters say an Alberta Clipper low pressure system will sweep across southwestern Ontario Monday night, bringing 5 cm 10 cm of snow by Tuesday morning.

"The snow is expected to begin during the day Monday and taper off later Monday night," the statement says. "Although localized amounts of 10 cm to 15 cm are possible, the snowfall warning criterion of 15 cm snow in 12 hours is not expected to be reached."

Environment Canada says drivers can expect poor road conditions late Monday afternoon and into the night.
