'Incident' At Police HQ Resolved

London police say there was never any danger to the public during an incident at police headquarters that saw part of the building evacuated.

"At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 07, 2017, a distraught member of the London Police Service (LPS) was isolated inside an area in police headquarters at 601 Dundas Street," police said in a statement issued early Friday morning.

That area of the building was evacuated, although officers responding to the incident stayed behind. Police say they were assisted by members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service.

The London Free Press reported that tactical officers could be seen inside the building.

The incident was resolved peacefully around 11:40pm. Police say no charges are pending and no further information about the incident involving the officer will be released.
