The London Lightning dropped their season opener 120-114 to the Niagara River Lions on Saturday.
At the end of the first quarter, the Lightning trailed by one point, but the River Lions jumped ahead in the second to take a 61-53 lead heading into halftime.
London wasn't able to catch up to Niagara, with the River Lions sitting at a 94-83 lead at the end of the third. The Lightning came within six points in the final frame, but couldn't surpass the River Lions.
The Lightning are will take on the Halifax Hurricanes in their home opener on November 26. Tip off is at 2pm at Budweiser Gardens.
