London Police Launch Crime Prevention Week

London police are teaching residents how to keep an extra eye on the streets this week.

Ontario's annual Crime Prevention Week kicked off on Sunday and runs until Saturday.

This week-long crime prevention campaign is supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police, the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, and all police services across Ontario.

“Effective crime prevention starts with strong community partnerships,” said London Police Sergeant Brendan Hicks. “Working together with the community we serve to identify criminal activity and crime trends is how we, as a police service, help to build a safer community.”

Crime prevention officers will have displays set up in the following locations over the course of the week:

  • Monday from 11am to 1pm at White Oaks Mall (1105 Wellington Rd.)
  • Tuesday  from 11am to 1pm at Westmount Mall (785 Wonderland Rd. S)
  • Wednesday from 1 to 3pm at Sherwood Forest Mall (1225 Wonderland Rd. N)
  • Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30pm at The Berkshire Club at the Neighbourhood Watch Appreciation Night. RSVP required. (500 Berkshire Dr.)
  • Thursday from 11am to 1pm at the Covent Garden Market (130 King St.)
