Man Seriously Injured In Hwy. 401 Crash

One driver is in hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 401 in Oxford County.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Tuesday around 4:35pm, a four-door Acura car was travelling west on the highway when it struck the center median near Trussler Rd. in Blandford Blenheim Township. The car then struck a transport truck that was towing a trailer, before striking the centre median a second time.

The driver of the car, an adult male, was rushed to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the transport truck was not injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The westbound lanes of Hwy. 401 were closed for several hours between Cedar Creek Rd. and Oxford Rd. 29. All lanes have since been reopened to traffic.
