Transportation An Important Issue For Londoners: Survey

According to a recent survey, transportation is the most important issue facing the City of London.

The survey, which was conducted by Ipsos between May 23 and June 2, asked 500 Londoners 18 years of age and older what issue should receive the greatest attention from city council.  Of those, a four-in-ten surveyed chose transportation, which was followed by development/infrastructure and economics.

Two-in-ten specifically mentioned inadequate public transit/transportation during the survey.

According to a report being presented to London's Strategic Priorities and Policy Committee meeting on Monday, the survey's findings are part of an overall trend towards more community interest in transit and transportation.

In 2015, 13% of Londoners surveyed chose transportation as a priority, and in 2016, that number increased to 23%.  The percentage rose again this year to 36%

The report stated that a major focus on rapid transit in the media before the survey was conducted, was likely what influenced the spike in transportation as the top issue facing the city.
