City Bus Crash Knocks Out Power

A London neighbourhood was without power Monday morning after a city bus collided with a hydro pole.

London police say the LTC bus crashed into the pole at the intersection of Adelaide St. S and Nelson St. around 6:30am. Only one passenger was on board the bus at the time and no one was injured, according to Constable Jacquie Wilson.

The crash caused some minor inconveniences on the morning commute as Adelaide St. between Ade St. and Nelson St. was closed, leaving motorists to find alternative routes.

Around 900 London Hydro customers in central London and along Hamilton Rd. lost power as a result of the crash. By 9am, hydro crews were able to restore hydro to most of those affect. Power to the remaining 100 customers was restored around 1pm.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
