Infrastructure Funding For Midwestern Ontario Hospitals

Ontario is spreading the wealth in midwestern Ontario.

MPP Liz Sandals announced Hospital Infrastructure Renewal Program funding for the region, in Stratford on Thursday.

Clinton Public Hospital - $296,798.

Seaforth Community Hospital - $925,439.

St. Marys Memorial Hospital - $319,133.

South Huron Hospital - $1.35-million

Stratford General Hospital - $1.01-million

Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital - $3.75-million

South Bruce Grey Health Center - $2.7-million

“I am very pleased to announce funding for Stratford General Hospital and others receiving funding from the province’s Health Infrastructure Renewal Plan to make repairs and upgrades to their buildings. These significant improvements to their structures will enhance the care and services that patients receive," says MPP Liz Sandals, president of the treasury board.

Huron Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson says $2.7-million in funding for infrastructure upgrades and renovations in Kincardine, Walkerton, Chesley and Durham, bodes well for the future of redevelopment plans in Kincardine.

The money will go toward critical upgrades and replacements, such as roofs, windows, heating, and air conditioning, fire alarms, electrical, elevators, boilers and back-up generators.

The Huron Bruce MPP says the funding will ensure residents  continue to have access to quality healthcare close to home.

"Minister Hoskins recognized my efforts in this regard this year during his remarks at ROMA, and I will continue to work on behalf of the residents of Huron-Bruce to ensure that they receive the healthcare services they need in a timely fashion," she adds.
