London police Chief John Pare says police have not found any new evidence "so far" that would warrant the re-opening of sexual assault complaints that had been deemed unfounded.
Plice announced back in February that they were conducting a review of sexual assault complaints, after reports that such complaints were being dismissed at a disproportionate rate.
Pare says police are committed to providing the best service possible in response to victims of sexual assault complaints, and have been working with community leaders including the executive director of Anova on what is being called a "community based peer review process."
"We believe that through this collaborative approach we can develop best practices and evidence-based trauma informed investigations which will provide the best response and the best support for victims of sexual violence," says Pare.
He also says that the review is on-going and for that reason, no further statements will be made.
