Former Knights Trainer Passes Away

The London Knights organization is mourning the loss of a man who spent 38 years with the team.

The Knights announced Friday afternoon that former trainer Don Brankley has passed away. He began his career with the Knights in 1970 and was with the team until his retirement at the end of the 2007-2008 season.

"Branks," as he was affectionately known by members of the Knights' organization, was 69.

Former Knights players expressed their sadness upon learning of his passing.

"Branks will always be remembered at Budweiser Gardens as a banner signifying his commitment and passion towards the Knights hangs from the rafters," the Knights said in a statement released Friday afternoon. "The London Knights would like to send its sincerest condolences to the Brankley family at this time."
