Beer And BBQ Show On Tap This Weekend

Beer and barbecue lovers will be flocking to the Western Fair District this weekend.

The annual Beer and BBQ Show kicks off Friday afternoon. The three-day show features countless different brands of beer to sample, as well as some of the best food London has to offer.

Skye Nicholson-Smith, marketing and communications Manager with the Western Fair District, said there's something for everyone.

"We've got, of course, the beer and barbecue. We have lots of different craft brewers, different kinds of craft cocktails, spirits, and wines. And then on the food side, we have the ribs, the chicken wings, and some of those barbecue favourites. We also have Mexican food, Caribbean food, and all sorts of food," she said. "We also have a tonne of activities. We have bubble soccer, tail-gate toss, trivia. We've got bands on the stage all three days and cooking demonstrations. It's a lot to pack in in three days."

Friday's musical entertainment will take on a rock feel on Friday night, with The Do Good Badlies taking the stage at 5pm to kick-off the show. KinCrest takes the stage at 7pm. The Geogg Masse Band, which has opened for bands like Trooper and April Wine in the past, will start their set at 9pm.

The show will feature country bands on Saturday and blues acts on Sunday.

Tickets are $16 at the door. Anyone going to the show must be at least 19 years old.
