Lightning Top Hurricanes To Win NBLC Championship

The London Lightning are the 2017 NBL Canada Champions after defeating the Halifax Hurricanes 129-116 in Game 6 on Friday.

At the end of the first quarter, the Lightning held a 36-25 advantage over Halifax, and extended their lead to 69-51 at halftime.

The Lightning continued to lead 97-85 in the third, but things got close for London when Halifax came within seven points with just over 7:03 left in the final frame.  However, London quickly brushed off the advance to earn the win with a 12 point advantage.

Royce White led London with 34 points and 15 rebounds, while Ryan Anderson put up 32 points and seven rebounds.  Kyle Johnson also had 15 points and three rebounds.

The Lightning won the best-of-seven series 4-2.
