Lightning Hold On To Beat Hurricanes In Game 1

The London Lightning struck down the Halifax Hurricanes 105-97 in Game 1 of the NBL Canada Finals on Friday.

The Lightning scored a 24-17 lead in the first quarter and remained ahead by three points heading into halftime. The score was tied at 81 points apiece after the quarters, but London battle back in the final frame to win with an eight point advantage.

Garrett Williamson and Joel Friesen led the Lightning with 17 points each. Ryan Anderson also added 14 points, ten rebounds and nine assists.

London has yet to lose a game during the playoffs, sweeping both series with Orangeville and Windsor. The Lighting are currently riding a 16-game win streak.

The two teams return to Budweiser Gardens on Saturday at 7pm for Game 2.
