While summer doesn't officially arrive for another month, the unofficial kickoff to summer is upon us.

The Victoria Day long weekend will see people venture to the cottage, begin gardening, hangout on patios, and set off fireworks.

The statutory holiday, in honour of the late Queen Victoria’s birthday, means no work or school for most on Monday. For anyone planning to use the three-day weekend to catch up on errands, below is a list of what’s open and closed in London.

CLOSED:

Government offices (municipal, provincial, and federal) Schools Canada Post (no mail delivery) Malls (including White Oaks Mall, Masonville Place, and Westmount Shopping Centre) Banks LCBO/Beer Stores Grocery stores Costco Wholesale London Public Library branches Most drug stores (Shoppers Drug Mart locations at 1224 Commissioners Rd.W., 510 Hamilton Rd. and in Sherwood Forest Mall at 1225 Wonderland Rd. N will be open from 10am-6pm)

OPEN:

Fanshawe Pioneer Village (Queen Victoria birthday festivities starting at 10:30am) Fanshawe Conservation Area (Fanshawe Optimist Fireworks Show at dusk, for campsite availability call 1-866-668-2267) Eldon House (Garden Tea Party at Fanshawe Pioneer Village 1pm-4pm) Labatt Retail Store on Richmond St. – 11am-6pm City spray pads – 9am-9pm Movie theatres The LTC will be running on a Sunday schedule
