Lightning Hold Off Express 106-101

The London Lightning had a strong second half Saturday night and beat the Windsor Express 106-101 at Budweiser Gardens.

Windsor controlled the game throughout the first half, but the Lightning outscored the Express 30-17 in the third quarter and held off a Windsor comeback attempt to take the victory.  The win extends London's current win streak to eight games, a streak that began following London's loss to the Express on March 8.

Ryan Anderson led the Lightning and all scorers with 23 points, including ten-for-11 free throw attempts completed.  Anderson also led all players in assists with nine and had five rebounds.

Garrett Williamson added 14 points for London and was a perfect six-for-six from the free throw line.  Marcus Capers and Julian Boyd each had 13 points.  Kyle Johnson led the Lightning on defence with eight boards.

For Windsor, it was Maurice Jones and Shaquille Keith leading them with 17 points apiece.  Juan Pattillo sank 16 points and led with 13 rebounds for a double-double.

Both teams are back in action Wednesday night.  The Lightning welcome the Cape Breton Highlanders to Budweiser Gardens while the Express take on the Niagara River Lions at the WFCU Centre.
