Old Man Winter Returns Friday

People in the London area are about to get a harsh reminder that winter isn't over yet.

Environment Canada has issued a snow squall watch for London, Parkhill, and eastern Middlesex County with up to 20 cm of snow possible by Friday night.

The national weather agency expects squalls to develop to the southeast of southern Lake Huron Friday morning, moving into the London region in the afternoon. Under the most intense snow squalls, 10 cm to 15 cm could fall within 12 hours.

Highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility could be significantly reduced with strong northwesterly winds blowing snow.

Motorists are advised to adjust their driving accordingly and leave lots of time to get to their destination.

Snow squalls will clear out of the region by Saturday but flurries and snow remain in the forecast until Wednesday.
