Woodstock Police Seek Bank Robber

Police in Woodstock are searching for a suspect after bank robbery by a man, claiming to be armed with a weapon.

Woodstock police say a man, wearing a balaclava, walked into the CIBC branch at 467 Norwich Ave. around 6:15pm on Thursday and demanded money from the tellers. The man provided a duffel bag, which he yelled at bank employees to fill with cash.

Police say the man stated he had a gun, however, no weapon was seen.

The man took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Fortunately, no one inside the bank was hurt during the incident.

Police and members of the canine unit searched the area but were unable to find a suspect.

The man is described as white, in his late 20s, 5'7"- 6'0" tall, 160 - 190 lbs, with an average build, and slight facial hair visible beneath a dark coloured balaclava. He spoke with a deep voice and had an authoritative walk.
