William McDonald of no fixed address, was arrested by London police with the assistance of the OPP on Wednesday. He is charged with second degree murder, aggravated assault, discharging a firearm with intent to wound/endanger life, and possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm.

The murder charge is in relation to the shooting death of Emmanuel Awai, 26, who was found dead in an apartment at 135 Connaught Ave. on December 28, 2016.

The other charges stem from a shooting in a parking lot in the area of John St. and Richmond St. on April 29, 2016. A man was critically injured in the incident but survived. Police issued an arrested warrant for McDonald and a second man, Samater Ali, in the days that followed.

Police picked up Ali last August but the search continued for McDonald, who was often featured in the police "Wanted Wednesday" posts on Twitter.

McDonald will appear in court to answer to all of the charges.
