Knights Fall 3-2 To Sting In Shootout

The Sarnia Sting defeated the London Knights  3-2 in a back and forth game on Wednesday that ended in a shootout.

Max Jones scored within the first three minutes of the game to give London a 1-0 lead, but Troy Lajeunesse responded with a goal for Sarnia 7:47 into the first period.

After a scoreless second frame, the Knights took the lead again thanks to a goal by Janne Kuokkanen 6:23 into the third. However, Franco Sproviero scored for the Sting with just under seven minutes left in the period to tie the game and force overtime.

Neither team scored in OT, and the Sting were able to settle things in the shootout.  Drake Rymsha scored the only goal of the shootout to earn Sarnia the win.

Despite the loss, London outshot Sarnia 45-32.

The Sting are at home on Friday to take on the Erie Otters at 7:05pm. And on the same day, the Knights are at Budweiser Gardens to battle the Ottawa 67's at 7:30pm.
