New Information Coming In Alleged Killer Nurse Case

Provincial police say more information will be released Friday morning regarding the case of a former Woodstock nurse who is accused of murdering eight residents of long-term care facilities in Woodstock and London.

OPP Sergeant Dave Rektor says a media release will be sent out Friday morning.

Elizabeth Wettlaufer is to appear in Woodstock court on Friday morning, her first in-person appearance since her arrest in October.

She faces eight counts of first degree murder in the deaths of:

James Silcox, 84, Woodstock Maurice Granat, 84, Woodstock Gladys Millard, 87, Woodstock Helen Matheson, 95, Woodstock Mary Zurawinski, 96, Woodstock Helen Young, 90, Woodstock Maureen Pickering, 79, Woodstock Arpad Horvath, 75, London

The seven residents of Caressant Care in Woodstock and one resident of Meadow Park nursing home in London died between 2007 and 2014.

Rektor was unable to provide any more information about what is to be released Friday, saying only, "There will be information coming out to all media agencies at the same time tomorrow from the investigative team."
