Middlesex OPP have released the name of the 51-year-old woman killed in a single-vehicle crash on a Hwy. 401 off-ramp.
Katherine Schmidt of London was fatally injured when the SUV she was riding in crashed on the eastbound off-ramp to Wellington Rd. around 12:20pm on Wednesday.
Schmidt was rushed to hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, 56-year-old James Schmidt of London, remains in hospital in critical condition.
The Wellington Rd. off-ramp was closed for several hours as the OPP Technical Collision Investigation Unit investigated the cause of the crash. The investigation is on-going.
